6.45-7.30pm: Food, Music and Dancing.
7.30-9.00pm: Professor David Newman presents “Peeking over the Wall”, followed by Q&A.

Peeking Over the Wall looks at the impact of the separation wall on future generations of Israelis and Palestinians, including interviews with young children (from both sides of the conflict) living in the West Bank. How do our children and grandchildren see the future of Israel? 70 percent of Israel’s population were born after 1967 and they are today’s and tomorrow’s leaders – what are their messages?

David Newman was Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Ben Gurion University in Israel from 2010-2016, where he founded both the Department of Politics and Government and the Centre for the Study of European Politics and Society (CSEPS). Until 2014 he was the chief editor of the academic journal, Geopolitics. Originally from the UK, he is presently on Sabbatical as a visiting professor at the University of London. In 2013 he was awarded the OBE for promoting scientific cooperation between Israel and the UK.
